A landscape architect's homepage, 6.8 s to 1.5 s on a phone.

A San Diego landscape architecture studio sells with photos of its projects. On a phone, its homepage downloaded 7.6 MB before the work showed. We rebuilt the page from the same photos and words.

What we changed

  • Used 14 of the studio's own project photos, sized for the screen and saved as WebP. The top photo is 69 KB on a phone, and the gallery loads as you scroll.
  • Removed the slider scripts, the web fonts and jQuery.
  • Added tap-to-call in the header, on the first button and in a bar that stays on screen.
  • Kept their own words: the headline, the services and their clients' quotes, unchanged.

How we measured

Google Lighthouse 12.2.1, mobile setting with its standard slow-network simulation, three runs each, alternating between the two sites, on October 19, 2026. Each number is the median of the three. Page size counts every file the page downloads.

This is a free preview we built for the studio. Their live site is unchanged, and we don't name them here.
